Our community

Rooted in North Killeen

North Killeen is one of the oldest parts of the city, and many of the families here are working hard with too few resources. We believe lasting change happens one young person at a time, through education, a caring mentor, and a clear path forward.

The Foundation grew out of the community work of Encounter City Ministries, which has served this neighborhood through GED assistance, weekly meals, and the annual Back-to-School Supply Giveaway. Today Encounter the City Foundation is a separate, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit with its own board of directors.
